INN ON THE LAKE FISHING WATERS ~ COBHAM

Fishing Lake - Cobham Hall, Kent
Fishing Lake - Inn on the Lake, Cobham, Kent

This lake is controlled jointly by Blue Circle fishing club (NWCAC) and TWAPS. It is strictly a club water and only members of either club are entitled to fish the lakes. Bailiffs regularly carry out patrols of all club waters. Fishing on the Middle and Small lakes is between the hours of 7a.m. and 8p.m. whilst fishing on the Large Lake is allowed 24/7. Consideration also has to be given to wedding parties when having photos taken and you may be asked to move should the need arise. The only baits banned on this water are boilies and any nuts and seed baits i.e. hemp, peas, beans, etc. Junior members are also entitled to fish these waters provided they are accompanied by an adult member at all times. Another point worth noting is that juniors are only allowed to fish with one rod on any of the three lakes.

There are three lakes in total, Large, Middle and Small. All three lakes are surrounded by woodland and look very picturesque in the sunset. Large Lake.... is the first one you encounter on entering the fishery. It is approximately 150m long by 100m wide (4acres). The depth varies considerably from 1.2m (4ft) in the south east corner to over 7m (20ft) in the north east corner. The fish in here list as follows: Pike to 28lb+, Carp to 25lb, Tench 6-10lb, Perch to over 5lb and Bream in excess of 10lb plus numerous roach and rudd. One word of warning though this lake can be snaggy!! Two rods only per angler may be used on this lake. (juniors one rod) Middle Lake.... is roughly 60m long by 67m in wide (1acre). The depth on this lake is a more consistent 2.4m deep (8ft). There is an island in the north-east corner roughly 10m in diameter. The fish in this lake are still abundant in number and consist of the following:- Pike up to 6lb, Carp to 20lb, Roach to 1lb,Tench to 5lb, and Bream to 4lb. This lake is supposedly easier to fish then Large lake. Until the 1st October only 1 rod may be used and then adult members may use 2 rods until the last day of March. Small Lake.... is approximately ⅓rd of an acre and about 1m deep. This lake is stocked with small Skimmers, Carp, Pike, Roach and Rudd and is the easiest of the three to fish.
